Pawa Up First a débuté, il y a de cela quelques années, en tant que projet studio de Serge Nakauchi Pelletier et de Mathieu Pontbriand, tout deux anciennement du groupe punk rock Men O Steel. Depuis, PUF a évolué pour enfin devenir un quintet où l’on retrouve guitare, piano/synthétiseur, basse, batterie et percussions, avec des collaborateurs occasionnels incluant une section de cuivres, des MCs et des chanteurs. Leur son instrumental, influencé par des éléments du post-rock, dub, jazz, électro, hip hop, indie rock et musique cinématique, combiné avec les projections vidéo live, crée un vaste répertoire d’atmosphères et de dynamismes.

Pawa Up First started out as a recording project a few years back and has since evolved into a quintet mainly comprised of guitar, bass, piano/synth, drums, percussions with occasional collaborators including a trumpet player and a laptop musician. Influenced by elements of jazz, electro, hip hop, indie rock, and cinematic music, Pawa Up First creates a wide range of atmospheres and dynamics with its instrumental repertoire.
